Freedom Parade
We were so lucky that the Airbnb we booked had a front-row seat at the Freedom Parade. Every year, Provo puts on a big 4th of July parade. It is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, 4th of July parades in the United States. It isn't the Rose Bowl parade, but it's still fun to watch. The parade honors local communities, politicians (we saw the governor and a senator), and the veterans who have served in the forces. It is such a big deal that people set up their chairs the night before and even sleep overnight to ensure a good view. We just rolled out of bed at six and set our chairs up. I am too old to sleep outside overnight. The parade was about 2 1/2 hours long. It starts at 9 and ends just before noon. At the beginning of the parade, local businesses pass out coupons and throw candy to the kids. We scored a couple of tickets to a waterpark.
