Pumpkin Cheesecake Brownies

America loves its pumpkin and the season for pumpkin is starting earlier and earlier.  You can find just about anything you want with pumpkin in it here in the states from pie, coffee, cake, muffins, bread, ravioli, yogurt, cookies, and now brownies.  Now some may think yuck, but don't knock it till you try it!

Begin by making the brownie mixture.  You will need:
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
4 ounces of melted dark chocolate
1/2 cup of butter

Combine these first 5 ingredients and add 3/4 cup of flour with 1 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Set aside and make the pumpkin cream cheese filling to be marbled throughout the top, You will need:

1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
a pinch of nutmeg
4 ounces of room temperature cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup of sugar
2 Tablespoons of all-purpose flour.

Combine wet ingredients then add dry. Place brownie mixture in a 9-inch square baking dish.  Line dish with parchment paper and butter paper.  Then add pumpkin cheesecake mixture on top and with a knife swirl mixture throughout the brownie mixture.  Place pan in a preheated oven set at 350 degrees and bake for 30-50 minutes.  Time depends on altitude,  Test with a toothpick and cook until done in the center.

Enjoy!
