Mausoleum of Ahmed I

Hello, I hope you had a good weekend.  We spent most of our weekend with the girls at their cross-country race and then at the lacrosse games. I spent the weekend, as Frank didn't return from Germany until Sunday.  Anyway, I forgot to add these photos to day two in Istanbul.  I forgot that we had gone to Ahmed's tomb at the Blue Mosque before heading down to the waterfront.  I am not used to Frank taking pictures, so these were in his photos. The tomb was constructed in 1617 after the Sultan's death.  He died of typhus.  The tomb contains 35 other important people, including their children.  The room is stunning. Stay tuned for Cappadocia.
