It's Official
We left the Civil Affairs office around noon yesterday and came back to the hotel. Avery was exhausted and took an hour and a half nap. She was easy to put to sleep. Since there are so many families adopting in our group the government here has given our agency to do the paperwork in advance, so we were required to all meet in a conference room and fill out that paperwork. See dad's red thumb, that is used in conjunction to his signature. We were starving and so off we went to Pizza Hut and Walmart. Walmart is pretty interesting. I will have to post pictures of that another day. The next morning, Avery walk up whimpering. She had a full diaper. When I went to change her she cried for a little bit, but then settled down. I was even able to get a smile or two out of her! We dressed, ate breakfast, and off to the Civil Affairs office again where we turned all the paperwork in to get our official decree that Avery is ours. The director came out and gave a little speech and handed each family their official certificate that Avery is legally ours for forever and ever! Welcome to our family sweet girl! Afterwards, we were required to go to the notary's office to get the paperwork notarized. So here I sit in the hotel while the boys are off looking for some lunch to eat, Avery is sleeping which is a good thing because this afternoon we have to drive to her home town which is a 2 1/2 hour drive there and back. Avery Elizabeth is officially ours!
