Meeting and Parting "Corner View"

There has been lots of meeting and parting at our house right now despite it being summer, and there isn't much sleeping in going on in our house. Harris and Frank leave each morning for the city. Frank is working in the city instead of at home as it is just a little too noisy in the summer for him to get any real work done. Harris goes with him as he has an internship in the city with a new start-up company.  The first couple of days were hard as he was a little unsure of himself and the contribution he could make, but he is starting to feel comfortable now and is even having some fun.

Roman is having fun meeting friends at Cub Scout camp!  Every day when I pick him up, he has a big smile on his face and by the time his head hits the pillow at night he is exhausted.

I have been meeting with my physician these last couple of weeks to figure out what is going on with my health.  We have some answers and it turns out my thyroid was too low.  I have started taking medication for it and I hope soon I will feel much better.  Now I just have to meet with the cardiologist to see if my thyroid being low is why I had an abnormal EKG or if there is something else going on.  I think my thyroid has been low for a really long time; however, I didn't know the symptoms I was having were related to low thyroid. I thought my weight gain was related to not having enough sleep and not enough time at the gym.  I thought being tired was just because I have 5 children and a home to manage.  I had no clue why my skin was so dry and why my hair is dry and brittle.  Well, I better get to bed as tomorrow I am volunteering at the Cub camp.  Have a great week everyone.

Wow 5 children, you got me beat by one. Taking care of everyone and everything does seem to take a toll on us in many ways while we give our labors of love. Seems like everyone is into something exciting. I hope you can find time to relax and do some holistic healing along your journeys.

Sorry you are having thyroid issues. I was 29 and didn't know it was as important as the brain and heart when I got mine removed for thyroid cancer. I had some rough starts with the meds starting out. It is amazing all that the thyroid does. I would not be surprised if it was affecting your heart. I hope you start feeling better soon. Gluten intolerance, sensitivity and Celiac seem to follow thyroid issues. XO

I'm so glad you found out, and hope the meds help! I had the opposite problem, hyperthyroidism, and it also took me several months to diagnosed!

Wishing you good health... and that you feel better soon.

Good on you for helping out at scouts camp. I always come back feeling so tired whenever I help out with scouts --even if only at scouts meetings!
