Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga, Tennessee is located just an hour and 1/2 north of Atlanta and is a perfect location for a day trip.  Since we are going to Europe for the whole summer I didn't really want to go away for the whole President's holiday weekend.  Grandpa is here visiting from Mesa, Arizona and has never been to Chattanooga, so we were excited to show him the city.  Chattanooga is not a very big city but has a lot to offer.  Personally, I love their aquarium; however, we have been to the aquarium before when my husband's parents visited a view years back.  We thought we would check out Rock City located on Lookout mountain.  It was a great place to run off some little boy energy.  What is Rock City?  It is kind of hard to explain, but it is kind of like a miniature botanical garden with really unique rock formations.  Throughout the one mile trail, you will squeeze through the Fat Man's Squeeze, see hidden gnomes, a waterfall, and an amazing view that promises you can see 7 states on a clear day.  Then we headed over to Ruby Falls which is an underground waterfall.  You travel 1120 feet underground by elevator which is about as deep as the Empire Building is tall.  We worked up a good appetite with all the walking we did, so we headed over to our favorite barbeque place Porkers to only find it closed.  Boo Hoo!  So we headed to the next best thing Sticky Fingers.  A day out wouldn't be perfect without cupcakes, and we didn't have to go far to find yummy cupcakes at Chattanooga Cupcakes with frosting a mile high.

Europe for the entire summer??!!!!!! What?????? That's awesome! My in laws took me to Europe in 2007 and it was a blast. My favorite country to visit was Switzerland. I loved it so much. It's like a whole country that's Shabby Chic in and of itself! Hahahaha, it's that quaint.

Glad you had fun, great pictures in this post, take care,

Shauna
