Orange Beach, Alabama
We usually don't get away for Memorial Day weekend as we hate driving in traffic, but this year we pulled the children (minus Harris-he had to work) from school and off we went. We stopped and had a fabulous lunch at Lulu's (I will post pictures later) where I enjoyed grilled fish, Frank had a bucket of peel and eat shrimp and the kids all enjoyed nice and juicy burgers. This restaurant is fantastic as the kids can play in their sandpit and build sandcastles and play in their water feature while waiting for their food. We have been going to this beach for ages, but hadn't gone in a while as it is 6 hours away from our home. I am so happy Frank could come with us; especially, since he will be leaving to do some work in Italy for the next 12 days. We are going to miss him something fierce. There really is something to the saying Life is a Beach. I never feel more alive than when I am breathing in the fresh salt water air with sand between my toes and the sun on my face. I was worried that Ivy might not like it as she had never been to the beach before, but she was amazing and had a blast. She loves the water and doesn't seem to mind the sand either. Now we just got to get her to realize that sand isn't for eating. What did you do this past weekend?
