Spring

A Prayer in Spring
by Robert Frost

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

Spring Break is just around the bend, I am so excited we are going to Asheville, North Carolina.  We will do a little hiking, eat a little southern BBQ, visit the Baltimore Hotel, swim in the hotel pool, and soak in the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.  I don't think it can get any better than that.

It is only 4 weeks now until we leave for Germany.  The boys are getting so excited.

On Thursday, we made these yummy little birds nest treats.  So simple to make.  Just a little butter, marshmallow, and rice noodles topped with Cadbury Eggs.  Aren't they adorable!

Unfortunately, the weekend didn't shape up the way we had planned.  Baby girl is terribly sick.  We visited urgent care this morning because she has been throwing up since Friday.  They gave her some Zofran, so I hope it does the trick because if it doesn't it means we will be spending the night in the hospital.  So far she hasn't thrown up, and she has managed to give me a smile.

Harris went to see the Hunger Games yesterday with his Nana.  He said it was fantastic!  I am only slightly jealous.  Nana has promised to come watch the gang, so I can sneak out and go see it.

My husband came home late Friday night after being in California all week.  He is now in love with California.  He ate at a yummy little restaurant called the Cottage.  The food must have been pretty good because he rarely talks about places he eats at .
Well, I better go put the sheets in the dryer.  I hope your weekend was better than mine.

Happy Sunday!

Hope your daughter is getting better.

I love the picture of the eggs and nest.

The Appalachian Mountains huh, sounds neat. Have you ever read Christy? It's a great book set in the Appalachian Mountains.

California is great, no doubt. We love it here, but we might be moving to North Carolina! We'll know near the end of the year.

Take care and beautiful post.

PS. My daughter is going to a poetry tea party today-you know since she is such a poet enthusiast and all..... :)

I have always wanted to visit Asheville...it's high the list of spots to see once we return to the States. Happy Spring and enjoy the break.
