Boone, North Carolina

Oh, man, I am trying to catch up and get all the posts in before the end of the year.  Before skiing, we spent the evening in Boone, North Carolina.  I wish we had more time to explore.  It seemed to be a charming town. Located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, this town of 20,000 hosts a small college and welcomes the traffic generated by nearby Grandfather Mountain and ski resorts. There are also many summer cottages and golf courses for summer retreats. In the morning, we headed home. We woke up to a light blanket of snow and flurrying snow.  It was pretty magical.
