At the Moment

Hi!  I hope you are doing well.  We still have one more week of winter break here in Germany. This weekend we celebrated 4 years with Avery coming into our family.  If you don't know her story you can follow this link as it is a good place to start.  Bringing her into our family has been one of the best decisions we have ever made.  We just adore this girl.  Before I move on to new adventures, I just want to wrap up on the Christmas holidays with the boys visit to Germany.  While they were here: we went on lots of walks, saw the movie Jumanji with Chris Rock which by the way was so funny, we went bowling, we went to the trampoline park, we went swimming in Bad Nauheim at the indoor swim park, we visited with Oma, ate lots of yummy German food, and just loved on each other.  It was so good to have my boys here. I know these bowling photos kind of suck, but since my blog is also our family album I  am going to post them. Sadly the low light made them all a little blurry.  On other news, I tried a new recipe for garlic chicken stir fry and it was for the most part a hit.  A few children complained and picked out the vegetables they didn't like, but than a few of the children surprised me with gobbling things down I never thought they would like. I think this was a huge lesson to keep trying when it comes to recipes I think the kids might not like. Right now I am loving this soundtrack. We went and saw the movie The Greatest Showman the other day and we loved it!  Right now I am reading The Orphan Train, and so far I like what I am reading.  I am looking for some new books to add to my list, so if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comment section. One last thing, did you see Oprah Winfrey's speech last night on the global globes. Probably not if you live here in Europe. Anyway, it was magnificent!  Makes me feel hopeful for my daughters that they may grow up in a world where they do not need to stay silent in fear that they will lose their job if they speak up against abuse.  I hope this is a lesson to men but to be fair also woman that we all need to treat each other with respect.

I think the photos are great and I'm so glad you shared the link to Avery, I didn't know that story. How wonderful! Happy New Year!
I am so happy that Avery is part of such a happy family, and you had a wonderful holiday with everyone around you. Happy New Year!

Congratulations on having this delightful little girl become part of your family. Perhaps those pampered royals in Britain should think of doing something similar instead of continuing to add to an already overburdened planet. It is obscene that they are going to have more than two children.
