Apple Picking Roadside "Corner view"

On Saturday between soccer games the children and I headed up to Elijay to pick apples.  This is a family tradition.  Harris did not come because like your typical teenager he was still sleeping and Winston was on a hiking trip at the  Gorge where he slept outside under the stars in a hammock.  We picked apples, drank apple cider, and brought plenty back to make apple pies and apple sauce.  Let Fall begin!

In Ellijay and Dawsonville you will find along the roadside pumpkin farms, apple farms, boiled peanuts, opportunities to buy fresh vegetables.

That looks like so much fun! Sorry about the wait with your new little one. Pregnancy(adoption style) is hard enough... But tacking on more time gets really old fast. Know that I keep you in my prayers.

i would love to try this once or forever - apple or peach or strawberry, cherry,... picking, but it is just not the custom here to get fruit this way, although there are lots of orchard and fields. the most we can do is buy already picked fruit at a farm. no one would let people in their fields, why, i don't know.

I also love to go apple picking at this time. The smell of apples in the orchard is very nice. Your little girl has grown a lot, I think!
