Pleasure in the Simple Things "Corner View"

In college, I often found my self stressed over various things such as grades, dating, money, and who knows what.  I have to say that I didn't enjoy the journey very much and may have been found to have said, "I will be happy when _______."  When I get an A, When I get more money, When I get married.  Now with age I realize I should have enjoyed the journey.  Maybe that is easy for me to say now that I am married,  have graduated from college, and have more money.  The thing is I have realized that arriving at a certain destination doesn't make you happy.  You have to choose to be happy.  Happiness is often found in the little things like blowing bubbles.  By the way Addy learned how to say bubbles today.  Happiness is baking this yummy pineapple upside down cake, kissing the head of a bald baby, swinging on the swings at a play ground, blowing bubble gum bubbles with your 10 year old, the smell of spring coming in ones kitchen window, or watching your children work side by side with their father out in the garden without complaint.  So if you find yourself wishing for happiness begin to count your blessing and with in just a matter of time you will find that happiness is right beside you and not somewhere far off in the distance.
p.s doesn't just looking at this cake I made make you happy.  It did me!

You are so right about happiness! Although, I'd be happier eating the cake than looking at the picture :-)

I love this post because it's what I believe and my modo at home is "happiness in now." I know that it can be so easy to start to feel this way and then people get old and they look back, sad and struck, thinking, "I could have been happy then and all along." Such a trap. So, thanks for the reminder. Happiness is NOW!!!! Love to you,

Shauna xoxoxo
