Malahide Castle

Hello! Before moving on to France, I should also return to my mother and Roman's last day in Ireland. Just 9 miles north of Dublin, Malahide Castle sits on 260 acres. This castle was built in 1185 when Richard Abbot, a knight, traveled with King Henry II to Ireland. The castle has remained in the Talbot family except for a short time during the Oliver Cromwell Era. Today, the Castle and Gardens belong to the state of Ireland. The tour through the castle takes around 45 minutes, and depending on your enthusiasm for beautiful gardens, you can spend anywhere from an hour to the whole day. The blue-and-white carpet featured in the photos above is original. The castle is very well decorated. The ground floor also contains a cafe and a shop. My mother said it was well worth visiting.
