Paris Day 1
Hello! I don't have much time to write this morning, but since we will be returning late today, I wanted to get a post out so I don't get too far behind. We are heading to Frankfurt today despite the never-ending rain. Honestly, I have had enough of it! Thankfully, it is warm, so it isn't as bad as it could have been. Anyway, the first stop on our France trip was Paris. We took a train from where we live to Paris. The trip is about 4 hours if you take the ICE train; otherwise, it can be upwards of 6 hours. My mom had been to Paris in 1989. At that time, we had done a grand tour of Europe. On the day we went to Paris, for some reason, we didn't go inside the Sacre Coeur. I am not sure why. My mom wanted to do this if we stopped in Paris, so we went. Unless you are in great shape, I recommend taking the bus.
We walked, and the stairs to get there were a killer. The chapel is beautiful and well worth the visit. Afterward, we grabbed a crepe and walked through the street in Montmarte, the district where this cathedral is located. The neighborhood has a slightly bohemian flare. Then it was time to find our Air B and B as we needed to get the keys from the owner and get some dinner. The apartment was cute, but the stairs were a killer. Thankfully, we only stayed there one night. Ok, I need to run! I need to catch the train. Have a great weekend!

So glad you made it to the Sacre Coeur this time and you captured it well.
Original crêpes is a must when being in France.
Enjoy the remainder of summer—rain or not!
Hugs,
