Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Just wanted to share a few more photos of my trip to New England.  I choose to stay in the town of Portsmouth, New Hampshire as it is on the border of Maine and is still very close to where my dad grew up in Dracut, Mass.  It is one of my favorite towns to visit when I am up that way.  The town is quintessential New England with colonial-style buildings, and the traditional New England harbor town has amazing restaurants to eat at.  We ate at the River House, but I would say there are plenty of other good restaurants to eat at as well.  We chose to stay at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel. It is a partner with Marriott so my friend and I were able to pool our points to stay at this lovely hotel. As a birthday treat, she used one of her upgrade coupons and we stayed in the presidential suite- Ooh La la.  Oh by the way, if you aren't using a Marriott or other Hotel credit card for your transactions you are missing out as this is how I afford to stay at so many lovely places.  Portsmouth also has a collection of really nice shops to visit that stretch out beyond your traditional mall stores, but also not your kitschy tourist shops.  I was able to pick up some handcrafted pumpkin soaps for my quest bathroom, picked up a unique ring, and a few Christmas presents for my mom from a Celtic store.  If you have never been you will love this little town.

Dearest Kelleyn,
Glad you got so much out of your stay!
That is the way to go; we have our Hyatt credit card and it pays off!
Pieter used Hyatt when he was VP Training & Development for Campbell Soup and back then it was even better in its rewards; part airline tickets, cruises and hotel stays.
You're a clever 'Mama'!
Hugs,
Mariette
