On Sunday morning we headed to Lake Como via a 30-minute train ride from Milan. We love Como! While not a large city, the lake makes all the difference. This was our second time visiting Como. We were there in the spring of 2001 on a mini-vacation after celebrating Frank's grandmother's 80
th birthday in Germany. Harris was just two at the time and stayed back with his
Oma. Once in Como, you can hop on the ferry boat and ride to any of the villages along the lake. We headed off to
Bellagio where we roamed the street and had a very delicious lunch of prosciutto and melon, a spinach and Gorgonzola pizza, and
Papadella noodles with a
Ragu sauce. Yummy! Everything is yummy in Italy though, and for dessert, we had
Panne cotta with strawberries. Unfortunately, this time we did not have time to ride the
funicular which takes you to a small village overlooking the city. The view is pretty spectacular from up there. Next time!
