Diamond Fields

Did you know that Arkansas is the only state in the U.S. to produce diamonds. If you are lucky you will find one. A guy found one last week that was 3 1/2 carats. Crater of Diamonds State park is about a hour south of Hot Springs. It was my boys dream day to be able to spend a couple of hours digging in the dirt. The didn't find any diamonds, but were sure as dirty as a pig who has rolled in the mud.

We saw this on the Travel Channel a couple of months ago. Our boys have said that they'd like to go spend a day there too! Looks like you had a great time.

I really had no idea. A 3 1/2 carat would look awesome on my finger.

getting dirty is always fun, diamond or not. ok, so confession. totally saw an episode of the dugger family visiting this same exact (i think) park. i never watch that stuff, but i was flying jet blue and really enjoyed seeing that family go digging, too.

it looks like so much fun!
