Happy Blog Anniversary!

Happy Blog Anniversary!
2 years
I can't believe two years has passed since I started this blog. The blog was born out of the desire to record our 4 month adventure in Europe. Naturally, the blog took over what I had already been doing for years "Scrap booking", and I haven't looked back. It has been a wonderful two years. I have not only recorded the day to day adventures of my life, but I have reconnected with old friends and met many new friends. Thank you to everyone who reads my blog. It has been fun getting to know you. I have learned so much from each and everyone of you. Wondering what kind of cake this is? It is a Hummingbird Cake very popular here in the south, but not of Red Velvet kind of fame. It is delish, and it is made with bananas, pineapple, and pecans bathed in a yummy pecan sour cream frosting. Oh Baby!!! You can't go wrong with that combinations. To get the recipe, go to the Joy of Baking.

Congrats!... this is one birthday where one doesn't feel that extra gray hair pop out. Looks delicious... how is your German husband handling the cake with all the icing? Mine would scrape his off, give it to me, and just eat the cake part... unless it too was sweet.

I saw the recipie for Rouladen... this must be a Southern German meal. The spaetzle kinda gives it away. Thinking about it, I have never had spaetzle... hmmm, I guess it's about time to try.

Happy Birthday!
