Homemade Goodness-Granola Addition

My husband love granola. He eats it every morning for breakfast. In the winter he eats it with milk and microwaves it for a few seconds to make it warm. The rest of the year he mixes it with yogurt and waits for it to get a little soggy. In Switzerland they call this Bircher Muesli sometimes they throw fresh fruit in such as blueberries. We go through a large bag of granola from Costco in about a week. He usually eats the Quaker Oats bran. I like the Bare Naked brand called Coco beach, but the stuff is expensive. I decided that from now on I am going to make my own. After looking at various recipes on the Internet I came off with my own recipe.

Ingredients
5 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 Tablespoons of oil
1 cup of applesauce
1/3 cup of honey
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ginger
2 1/2 cup of sliced almonds
1 cup of dried cherries
1 60z bag or (170gr) of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of coconut flakes
1/2 cup of flax seed

In a mixing bowl mix together oats, coconut, almonds, cinnamon, ginger, salt, flax seed, brown sugar. Once everything is mixed then add oil, honey, and applesauce mix well and turn onto two lined cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 30-40 minutes. You will want to check on it because depending on how thick you spread it on the cookie sheet will determine the number of cooking times. Should be golden brown and mostly dry. Once cooled add cherries and chocolate chips. Then place in an airtight storage container. Boy does my house smell marvelous this morning.
