Sólheimajökull

Solheimajökull was not on our list of places to stop, but when we saw it along the highway, we told the girls that there was a glacier on the side of the road, and they replied, "What is a glacier?"  We knew we needed to stop. While kids can visit the glacier by walking along the trail, they cannot walk on top of the glacier, as that requires special gear and ropes, and a guided tour is necessary for that experience.  The girls were thrilled despite the restrictions.
