Swim Team

I am not sure where the lazy days of summer come into play or maybe it is that we are just somehow on hyper drive this summer.  School ended the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and we have been on the go. As I said in a previous post, we went to the beach.  The children has a ball.  Upon return the children's swim team practice moved to early morning.  Thankfully, we don't have to be there till nine, but a good week in and I am wishing for a day where we have nothing on the agenda. Sadly that isn't going to happen this week as the girls have swim team, Roman has cub scout camp, Harris and Winston are traveling with our church on a retreat.  They just got back on Saturday from a camping trip with the Scouts.  Anyhoo, the girls participated in their first swim meet this past Thursday.  They didn't actually compete against anyone, but they are allowed to swim a link across the pool at their age prior to the actual competition taking place.  I am so proud of them.  When it was their turn they stepped right up to the starting block climbed up and when the whistle blew they dived in and swam across the pool.  Way to go girls!  We are so proud of you!  I can't wait to see where the next three weeks takes them in terms of gaining better swimming skills.  Did I mention my husband is in Italy this week for work.  I miss him so much.  The children are eating me alive.  I am not sure I am going to make it another week without him.  Hope you are having a great week!

Diving (or jumping) off that block can't be easy. You go little, fishes.
