Belfast
On Wednesday, Roman and my mother drove the 90 minutes north to the city of Belfast. We have been there before, but this time the weather was nicer and they walked around the city. They also went to the Titanic Museum, which I have yet to go to. Years ago, I saw an exhibition here in Atlanta at the aquarium on the Titanic, but the exhibition was not nearly as comprehensive as this museum. After walking through the museum they grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to Dunluce Castle. The castle sits along the County Antrim coastline. Today the castle is a ruin, but in its day it witnessed some of Ireland's most tumultuous and violent history. The castle was built in the 13th century and later owned by the McQuillan Clan and then acquired by the MacDonnell clan of Scottland. The castle fell into ruins around 1690 when the family became impoverished. Today the site is in the care of the Irish Environmental Agency and is a monument as such.

Both of us did give seminars all over Ireland and we were in the very street where the IRA had used a bomb just two weeks prior...
That makes you think!
Lovely history and only wish they could rebuild that Dunluce Castle.
The Sausage Roll looks Dutch as that is what I'm having for supper later. Got it via FedEx from DutchExpats.com

Feliz fin de semana.
