A Day in Boston

If you have ever tried to drive in Boston, then you know it is crazy and even crazier during the workweek so the Sunday following Fourth of July we drove into the city.  I was right to pick that day as the traffic was practically nonexistent.  I found a parking garage on-line beforehand and we parked the car there for the day while then traveling on the T which made getting around the city so much easier.   Our first stop was a bakery called Tatte which is famous for its bread and for its baked egg dish called Shakshuka which is a North African egg dish where the eggs are poached in tomato sauce with chili pepper and other spices.  While we didn't order this dish you could tell they were a favorite by looking at the tables around us.  The food was amazing.  Afterward, we caught the T down the street and took it to the Boston Commons where the children played on the playground and water splash pad. Then we went for a ride on the famous swan boats and the children got balloons from a balloon artist who was making balloons for children in the park.  It was such a lovely afternoon. We grabbed some dinner and headed back to our hotel.   While we didn't see any major Boston historic sites this time (my children have been to Boston before), it was nice to wander Boston like a local.  It was a perfect day for the children.

My mother used to dress kids alike, sixty years ago. When she lost us, she knew what to look for.
Boston certainly has a lot of historic sights, but it's also nice to just wander the city and see what you can find. And, it seems your family did just that. We have also ridden on the swan boats and seen the duck family!

Wow, that breakfast looks scrumptious! Had forgotten how much kids love the balloon artists:) You took some great and unusual images, Kelly Ann (hope this is how you like to be called?), especially with the two oldest girls sitting on the birds. It looks like you are making the summer a very special time for your kids! Great post for All Seasons! Can't wait to see what you do this week:):)

The bakery goods look tasty, but my favourite of these shots has to be that squirrel.
