Little Miss Avery

Today, I opened my e-mail to these three photos of my baby girl!  It was exactly what I needed.  Earlier in the day I had gotten news that a document was missing from our 1-800 application (a document necessary for immigration). Our agency had forgotten to send the document in and now it may take a couple more days to process our application or even longer.  Now I know this doesn't sound like very long, but Frank can only fly over to China the first week of January because of work commitments, and in order to make this happen everything has to go smoothly from this point on.  We have about 5 weeks for all the paperwork to be completed and our Travel Approval to be issued   Until you get the OK you don't know when you can buy tickets.  At this point, I am praying it will all work out.  It just has to work out!  The good news is she is growing!  Since August she has gained a couple of pounds and a couple of inches.  She went from barely walking to running.  She got 4 more teeth.  I have missed so many first!  I don't want to miss any more. I just want to hold her in my arms and tell her she is loved, but for the next 8 weeks these photos will have to do!

Update!  Our agency was able to fax over the missing document and the application was approved right away.  We are currently waiting for our NVC letter.  We hope to have this by Tuesday or Wednesday!

Yeah for new pictures!! She looks like she is doing well but when you see where she is...oh it just breaks your heart, I bet! I am praying everything goes smoothly so you can travel at the beginning of January!!
--oh and about the Halloween costumes at our school. Seriously, our school is like going through a time warp! I love it! We live in a very quiet, conservative community and if you didn't know better, you'd think we were back in the 80's. My kids have Halloween, Christmas, and Easter parties at school. They are allowed to basically wear anything they want. They can bring in their own toys to play with on the playground. There is a prayer before every HS basketball game, etc. I LOVE it here!

You must be very frustrated and very excited - all at the same time! I hope that all goes smoothly from here on and little Avery gets home to you soon!

this must be SO exciting, a little nerve wrecking i sense, to see her and not yet be able to touch her, hold her, hug her. but she knows, does she ever!
good luck on that application of yours, it'll work out.

How wonderful Kelleyn. Not the mishap, but the fact that she is thriving and it's getting closer. We are praying too. Love to you all,

Shauna xoxo

That's amazing...your story about your younger years. I can't believe how similar our lives were. It's uncanny.

Pictures in this last bit of time before travel are like balm to a weary soul! Looks like you should stop by a grocery when you arrive to pick up some rice crackers. :)
Looking forward to seeing her smiling in your arms!
