2 Years Down

It is hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that my oldest child has two years down in the books and will be starting his third year in college.  I am kind of bummed, but happy for him that he won't be coming home this summer.  He had an internship planned here on the east coast, but at the last minute, he got accepted to an incubator program at the University.  It was a really hard decision for him as both choices are really good choices, but in the end, it came to when will he ever have the opportunity or the luxury in participating in such an experience.  September can't come fast enough.  On another note, a few weeks ago he had the opportunity to travel with some friends to California and tour the Space X facility.  He is also on the rocketry club and they will be participating in a big event this summer in New Mexico.  He and his fellow teammates were happy that their launch went well and nothing broke on the rocket upon re-entry.   Oh, the places you will go!

Seeing Endeavour is quite a show stopper.

Good for him!

Whooo-hoooo! I feel good knowing there are young folks such as your son who will continue to keep our world spinning. You're an awesome Mama to raise a cool guy.

The first one is always the hardest! Great images of their time at Space X and curious where he will end up after college. (The way he is going, it maybe some more years of training, lol). Great to see your oldest doing so well! You have all reasons to be a proud mama!

It was painful as a mother letting my son go off to college away from where I felt I could always protect him, but it's all part of growing up. Hate that it has to happen but it's part of God's plan, isn't it?

Enjoy these college years! I am hopeful my daughter will jump back into college but she may not for a long while yet. I hope your son has a great time learning in his summer program.

Looks like you all had a fun trip to see Endeavour and the Space X rocket. If your son does go into rocket engineering (first time I am coming over to read your blog), I wish him all the best!!! As a kid I thought it would be wonderful to work at NASA. Wish I had been a lot more studious and understood Chemistry better. ;)

Happy spring to you,
Barb :)

Choices are sometimes hard, but it looks like your son is doing something he enjoys and may not get a similar chance. Good luck to him on the summer internship. Time does go by faster than we would like it too.
