Travel "Corner View"

I wouldn't have a blog named Traveling Bug if I didn't love traveling.  Adding a new addition (Avery) may have changed some of my traveling plans this year, but I am not going to let it stop me from traveling all together. This year, I will have a constant sidekick.  Bonding is such a huge issue when you adopt that you don't want to disrupt that process, and it doesn't happen over night.  You can't just expect someone who hasn't known you for 2 1/4 of their lives to just love you instantaneously.  It occurs little by little with patience, service, and trust.  Avery never had anyone to trust, so leaving her for a day, a couple days, or even a week could really set her back.  It may cause her to think she is being abandoned again.  It won't always be this way as the day will come that she will know we love her and we always come back.

Another way it is changing for at least the next couple of years is that I will probably not venture off without another adult by my side.  Going to the park with the two girls is a challenge. They go off in different directions.  Maybe not the safest thing to go farther than the park.

Where will I be going this year?  Jacksonville, Florida at spring break to visit family, Louisville, Kentucky and Indianapolis, Indiana for a mini reunion with some of the families from our travel group to China.  I can't wait to see the other children and see how much they have bloomed the last couple of months.  Then it is off to Williamsburg, Virginia for a week with the children this summer.  Then the trip I am most excited about Barcelona, Spain which has been one of my bucket list cities and the year will be finished off by a trip to Utah for a week of skiing.  Do you have any fun trips planned this year!  Do tell!

Corner View is a weekly appointment shared by people around the globe, an appointment started in the spring of 2009 by Jane in Spain and currently hosted by Francesca over at Fuori Borgo. We welcome you to join us; next week's theme is "slow."

Went to Bercelona years ago on business. Nice city, great food, very friendly people. As I am a military history buff, my favorite site was the castle on Mount Juic. Enjoy!

My husband and I do a lot of domestic travel as well. There's so much to see in the US and all relatively easy to get to. Sounds like you've got some great trips coming up!
I went on a sister trip when we lived in Germany to Barcelona and loved it!!! Lots of walking my favorite was the Tapas! Yum! We are putting traveling on hold for a while and focusing on college tuition and improvements to our home. I'm okay with that I feel fortunate enough to have gone many places and have a list growing of many more to visit. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

What a wonderful travel agenda you have for the year! At best, I will go to Tuscaloosa, AL to meet with my adviser and to Monterey, TN to see my parents. No major trips planned for this year :-(
