Signs of Fall

Slowly but surely Fall is on its way
Trees are changing colors
The Temperature has dropped -thankfully!
I would say the garden was harvested, but the turtles from the creek at my cantaloupes, and the squirrels at the zucchini.
We are craving pumpkin.

Years ago when I lived in Michigan, I belonged to a German speaking group.
We met once a month and would speak German while eating yummy desserts.
Pumpkin Gooey Cake was one of the recipes shared with me.

Crust
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter.
1 egg

mix together and with a fork press into a 9x13 baking pan.

Then in a bowl mix together:

1 15 ounces can of pumpkin
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 8 ounces of cream cheese
4 cups of powder sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 stick of melted butter
2 eggs
once combined pour over the first layer and bake in the oven for about 50 minutes at 350 degrees.  Should be a little moist.  So seriously yummy!

Happy Fall!

Pumpkin gooey cake looks good!
In Japan , autumn is referred to as "shoku-yoku-no-aki" (among other things:) which means " hearty appetite autumn", or the time of year when we have a great appetite for all the delicious fall foods:)
Happy Fall Days to you and your family!
