Adelaide Goes to Seattle

Adelaide went on her first airplane ride, and she was a perfect angel. All the passengers said that they didn't even know she was on the plane because she didn't make a peep. When we arrived in Seattle the weather greeted us as if we were a special guest because it couldn't have been more perfect. Not too hot not too cold and the sun was out in all its glory. We headed straight for West Seattle and went to one of my favorite bakeries Bakery Nouveau. We ate an amazing lunch of goat cheese pizza with caramelized onions and bbq pulled chicken with slaw on a brioche bun.  The next day Addy and I visited with our good friend Jenna who took us to the Portage Bay Cafe.  I am too scared to get on the scale after that breakfast.  I had the Challah French Toast covered in fresh berries and cream.  I seriously heard the choir of angels sing with this meal.  Jenna was in heaven because they had plenty of gluten-free options. Then off to do some shopping.  On Thursday, we went blackberry picking at a friends house which overlooks the Seattle harbor.  Boy, do I miss that view, but not the weather.  Then it was off to Tuta Bella for dinner.  On Thursday, we went to the Seattle Aquarium, but not before we ate lunch at Agua Verde.  I had the fish tacos. The aquarium is not very large, but they focus on local habitat.  I love their collection of Starfish. You can't visit Seattle without a visit to Pike Place market. I wish we had one of these in Atlanta.  Then we watched the sunset while eating dinner at Chinooks.  I had the salmon pot pie.  Seriously, if you love fresh fish than Seattle is your place; however, not very cheap, so a little saving may need to take place before visiting.  Friday, we just chilled with friends all day and now we are home.  Too short of a visit, but I will take what I can.  It was so great visiting my friends and hanging out in all my old haunts.

did just the two of you go on the trip? I remember those first (loud, in our case) airplane rides, and I'm sure our fellow passengers remember them too :)

Wow, Seattle sounds like the place to g for food! Would be a long ride for my part, though:) Wasn't it wonderful to go on your own, with almost only yourself to handle? A baby is nothing compared to a whole gang! I haven't traveled with Anna yet, only 1,5 hour drive. Turns out she's not into driving, unless she sleeps.
