Day 6 part 2
After completing our cooking class, Buffi and I walked into the city, where we explored the Cathedral and then did some shopping. Then, despite having a pretty filling lunch, we could not resist the smells of an Indian restaurant we came across. Buffi and I split a dish. We returned to the hotel, where we spent the rest of the evening relaxing. The Cathedral, officially known as The Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. The groundbreaking for the church began in 1229 and was completed in 1601. At one point, it was under Muslim rule, but King James I promised to restore the church to the Catholic diocese. The rose windows at 14 meters are the second-largest in the world, and the nave, which reaches 44 meters high, is the 8th-highest in the world. The building in the bottom left corner is a hotel. At one point, they were asked to remove the artwork, but that was back in 2021, so it looks like they won. I actually like it! It is whimsical. What is nice about Palma is that something is interesting to look at around every corner, whether it is the architecture or the artwork.
