Freedom Parade
We were so lucky that the Air B and B we booked had a front-row seat at the Freedom Parade. Every year the city of Provo puts on a big 4th of July parade. It is one of the biggest if not the biggest 4th of July parades here in the United States. It isn't the Rose Bowl parade by any means, but it is still pretty fun to watch. The parade honors local communities, politicians (we saw the governor and a senator), and the veterans who have served in the forces. It is such a big deal that people set up their chairs the night before and even sleep out overnight to make sure they have a good view. We just rolled out of bed at six and got our chairs set up. I am too old to sleep outside overnight. The parade was about 2 1/2 hours long. It starts at 9 and ends just before noon. At the beginning of the parade, there are local businesses that pass out coupons and throw candy to the kids. We scored a couple tickets to a waterpark.
