Orange Beach And Pensacola
Hello! Hope you had a lovely weekend! We made a quick trip to the beach. School was delayed for a week and so we took advantage of the extra days to squeeze in one more trip. I love the beach! The kids have a love-hate relationship to the beach. They don't like how long of a drive it is to get there and they don't like having the sand stick to everything, but once they are there there are no complaints. I love Orange Beach because the sand is so white and it isn't as commercial or overrun as Destin for example. We also spent one night in Pensacola since our hotel couldn't accommodate us for all three nights. Grandma and grandpa came with us! This trip was probably the last trip with my dad. We are currently on a waiting list to put him in a care facility. His Alzheimers has progressed that we can no longer care for him. It breaks my heart! Thankfully he still remembers who I am and he can still feed himself and go to the restroom alone, but he wonders and doesn't really enjoy doing activities with us. He prefers to watch tv and loves to eat. It is so strange how the brain works. Well, I better run! I promised to watch a movie with the girls. Speaking of movies, I just got done with watching the movie Made in Italy with Liam Neeson. It was pretty good, slightly predictable, but still good. I hope you have a good week.

Beautiful white sand, and awsome sunset!
That was a great idea, even if the drive is boringly long for kids.
So sad to realize this was the final get together with your Dad. It is so tough for loved ones to see the advancement of Alzheimer's disease.
Wishing you all strength in handling what is coming around the bend.
Lovely photos of happy times!
Hugs,
Mariette
PS we received the hardcover right after we returned home from Hilton Head. Looks just great. The paperback arrives this week! What a feeling for having this finally behind you... Now the selling for getting our costs back.
