Girdwood, Alaska

Just an hour south of Anchorage nestled along the Chugach Mountains there is a small town called Girdwood.  There isn't much in Girdwood, but if you like to ski then Alyeska is the place to go! I have to say the weather was glorious the whole time we were in Alaska.  It was so pretty and it was pretty hot at least by Alaska standards at 78 degrees though temps have reached in the high 90's this summer.  We stopped for a yummy lunch of grilled cheese on sourdough bread and tortillas soup.

The gardens are incredible in Alaska and are pretty famous for their giant vegetables due to the extended light hours.  If you missed my book review, then stop by the previous post and if you missed my trip to Hatchers Pass then swing by the post before that!  We are heading to Nashville for the weekend to hang with friends.  Have a great weekend!

What a feast of flowers, Kelleyn! For some reason the flower baskets make me think of Switzerland in the summer:) Didn't know it could get that hot in the summer. For the past week we have been in the 90ties. Many thanks for sharing this beauty from Alaska with All Seasons! Enjoy your week, and wishing you a smooth time of prepping getting everyone back to school:) Jesh
With their long summer days they can sure grow some amazing things. I'm not sure I could take the winters though. - Margy
Thank you for visiting my blog and for sharing all your wonderful photos of Alaska. I have only landed there once and spent time in the airport. It is on my list of places to visit!
