An Afternoon Walk
The other day I was desperately needing some time alone. Time where no one was asking me to do something or calling my name and while I love to hear my children call out to me "mommy," it can be overwhelming too. My mother came over and I was able to slip away for a couple hours. I had heard about this park on the other side of town, so I hopped into my car and off I went. I am not sure how I have lived here for 13 years and not known about this green space but I am so glad I could wander it's trails. When it was time to go home I felt at peace like all was right with the world. Anne Frank once said,"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or unhappy is to go outside and somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature, and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature." So much wisdom from such a young girl, but it is true sometimes we just need to get out and take a walk. There is so much to be happy about and to appreciate when we see all the beauty that God has created. Well, we are off for the next few days it is Memorial Day Weekend here in the states and my children have their last day of school tomorrow. Hope you have a good weekend! What do you have planned for this weekend?
