Denver " Cornerview Your corner of the world "

Hello!  I am posting Corner View early this week as Addy has an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow and it is an all-morning event.  No worries!  She is doing great, but if you have been following me for some time then you know she has a hole on the back side of her heart.  It is pretty benign, but it hasn't closed up yet and it may never close up, but they monitor it to make sure that if it does close up it doesn't pull in heart tissue that it shouldn't.  This scenario is unlikely, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Anyway, sorry I am a bad host of Corner View as I forgot to assign a topic for this week.  I am not even sure who is out there or if any of you still want to participate.  A few of you stopped by and a few said you will be back as soon as things calm down in your busy lives.

The state of Colorado is not new to me as I have been there multiple times.  My best friend lives in Colorado Springs as do some of my cousins.  When my husband said he had some work to do in Denver, I happily accepted his invitation to join him.  Yep, you heard right I went to Denver last week!  It was so much fun.  I arrived on Friday and my best friend picked me up since my husband had some business meetings to go to and was going to be busy all day.  We treated ourselves to a manicure and pedicure.  It felt so nice to be pampered.  Afterward, we went to our favorite Indian Restaurant called Little India.  I have told you about this place before as the food is so yummy.  Then we did a little window shopping followed by the Botanical Gardens and before heading to the movies we went to a new restaurant to us called Argyll Whiskey Beer Gastro Pub.  I had a small salad and split a Mushroom Burger with my friend Buffi!  The food was good.  Then we headed to the movies where we saw the Intern with Robert De Niro and Anna Hathaway.  The movie was cute and funny! After the movie, it was off to the Springs where I spent the night so that I could see her children and then have breakfast with my cousins before heading back to Denver to hang with my husband.  Saturday night we went out again to Little India as my husband had not been before and we were joined by his work colleague Ha who was also in town. It is funny to think a little over 20 years ago, I had no idea what Indian food was, but I do love it so!  Yummy.  On Sunday, we took the time to be lazy, hanging out in bed, reading, and watching some TV before finally going to dinner with another work colleague.  This time we went to Osteria Marco.  I had the Beef Tenderloin with Spinach and mashed potatoes.  It was Heavenly while my husband and his friend both enjoyed a plate of sliced Italian meats and cheeses before each having an artichoke and salami pizza.  On Monday, Frank had to go back to work but I enjoyed a nice walk around the city where I had lunch at City O City a fun eclectic restaurant featuring primarily vegan food.  I had a mixed salad with pears and walnuts with a citrus vinaigrette. They have amazing onion rings too.  I was joined by an old friend of ours Melissa who was also in town for work.  It was so nice to see her and catch up on her life.  Around dinnertime, we headed to the Art Museum where my husband's company was having a party.  The evening was lovely.  It was interesting to see a performance of Native American dance. Well, that wraps up my trip to Denver as Tuesday I headed back home to Atlanta.

I love the spontaneity of your trip to Colorado. That is the best way to love life, i think.

I hope all is well with your baby.

kelleyn! not until you pointed out to me that your son's name indeed appears on one of my drawings, did i realize this was the case. "roman" is, amongst other meanings, naturally, a belgian beer brand. you may have known this, but in case... ;)))

ps - it may not be super easy to hold the cv clan intact. i find myself i am forgetting it, because of said busier life than usual. i think about it, and about the effect on all of us, the ease with which we came together on wednesdays and how a project sometimes slips into a slower mode. i'll try, i find it is a good reminder YOU stop by at mine's too.

"grey" should be no problem. i see denver splendours under grey skies too, i'm glad to see you had a swell time anyway.

thxs for doing all this!
