Change "Cornerview"

Change is inevitable.  Every day things change.  Sometimes it is subtle and sometimes it is drastic.  Some people fear change and others embrace change.  I see change as a miracle.  I am one of those people who invite change.  I am not scared to change my hairstyle or try a new dish.  I love when one season changes into another, and I certainly don't believe in the clique that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.  People can change.   Tonight as a fun family activity we watched a liquid change into a solid in the making of ice cream.  You don't need to have an ice cream maker to make ice cream.  All you need is some ice, rock salt, Ziploc bags, and your food ingredients.

Shake Shake Shake Ice Cream
A large gallon Ziploc bag for each person making the ice cream
2 small sandwich bags per person
lots of ice and I mean a lot of ice
1/2 cup of rock salt per person

In a bowl mix together a 1/2 cup of half and half per person along with 2 Tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 Tablespoon vanilla per person. Then pour mixture into the small sandwich bag and then bag it again in a small sandwich bag.  Place in large gallon Ziploc and fill with ice and salt.  Shake for 15 to 20 minutes. If you want just a milkshake just shake for less time.  A bonus is that this is a great way to get some energy out of children.  Should look like soft serve ice cream when finished.  Eat plain or top with your favorite toppings.

Love old fashioned homemade ice cream. Especially when made with a hand crank during the summer and involving peaches.

What a wonderful post for change! I'm not sure my grandchildren would hang in there for 15 minutes of shaking though, well. . . unless they could do a baggy fight (like a pillow fight)!
Super cute boys and I love your living room's decor!
