Schools Out and More!
We made mocktails called the swimming, an old German recipe. Instead of Vodka, we added sparkling water, a few drops of rum flavoring, and non-alcoholic Curacao. School ended last week! The time since has been rather lazy for the children, but not so much for me; however, I have enjoyed sleeping a few mornings past 8a.m. I will appreciate every morning between now and August, as I do not enjoy getting up at 6:20 a.m. It really should be criminal to ask anyone to get up before sunrise. Since school has been out, we have enjoyed a few days by the pool, watched a few movies, prepared for girls' camp next week, hung out with friends, and slept. Given how late the girls sleep each day, they need the sleep. Also, Roman got his braces off today, but he won't let me take any pictures of his beautiful new smile. It is late, and I have to head to bed myself. Sadly, I received notice that my friend Dorothy Klaasen passed away in November. She was a mother to 5 and grandmother to 1. She lived in Australia. She was 82. I am not sure of the exact cause of death, but I believe it was related to her broken hip. We went to dinner as a family; however, the other children are stinkers when it comes to taking photos. Everyone except Harris and Winston. Miss Erica, Sarah, and Brooks met the big kids on the bus on the last day. A water fight ensued. Our Winston celebrated his 22nd birthday! I can't wait to see him! He is joining me in Germany!

Sounds like you are speeding into a busy summer, except for getting up at 6:20 AM.
That Blueberry Buckle Cake looked so yummy and no doubt got eaten up fast...
Dorothy Klaasen sounds like a Dutch name, either she or her husband's last name.
Winston already 22... How time flies!
Hugs,
Mariette
