Solar Storm

Growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, I had plenty of opportunities to see the Northern Lights!  They are pretty spectacular.  Despite the freezing cold of winter, we used to stand outside and watch them dance across the sky.  Yesterday, a rare global event occurred in the northern hemisphere where solar flares and coronal mass ejections created a dazzling aurora as far south as Boca Raton, Florida. They were a little hard to see with the naked eye, but strangely enough, the camera could pick them up.  While it was fun to see this, I am glad I have seen them in Alaska because these did not compare.

Correction added to this post.  I mentioned in the post that it was in the northern hemisphere, but they could be seen as far south as Tasmania, Australia.

Dearest Kelleyn,
Having seen the Northern Lights in Alaska must have been incredible.

Preciosas las fotos. Este año, por primera vez, se ha captado la aurora boreal, aquí en España.
Feliz domingo.
