A Saturday in Heidelberg
After a rather long train ride which was honestly too long, we arrived in Heidelberg around 12:30 p.m. and after grabbing some lunch headed straight into the old city center. This wasn't our first time in Heidelberg as this is where my husband and I celebrated our Engagement in 1996 followed by a summer of living there in 2011. We also visited the city 5 years ago when we lived in Germany for the year 2017-2018. Heidelberg holds a very special place in our hearts. We had intentions of visiting the zoo as well, but with the delay in arrival, we no longer had time to visit. I wish that could say our train ride home was better, but sadly it was worse. At least we have a fun story to remember. While in Heidelberg we walked along the Fussganger Zone and explored the stores. My friend Angela had never been to Heidelberg before, so they took the tram up to the castle and walked around a bit before we headed back to the train station and eventually home. It was a perfect day minus the train ride.

Wow, that was still a memorable visit for you and the girls!
Loved seeing Dutch painter Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring.
And Heidelberg has a romantic meaning to you both, due to your engagement there.
No doubt you also love the song: Peggy March - Memories of Heidelberg 1968 https://www.pinterest.com/pin/375980268903214587/
The same Peggy March has a song that I love for its meaning: I will follow him https://www.pinterest.com/pin/375980268903214613/
You are too young for recalling its hit period but I do remember.
Hugs,
