Beach Days, Sardinia
It is a tough job, but someone has to do! As one reader said, her next vacation to Hawaii is going to be sleep, eat, and relax each day and that was pretty much what we did. I was able to read three books while we were there which I will share with you soon, but honestly, each day consisted of getting up around 8:45 a.m. going to breakfast, going to the pool for a couple hours, going to the store each day for fresh salami and bread, and then heading to the beach each afternoon. Also, my little pleasure of getting fresh tuna salads. So refreshing! What is better than a plate of mix greens, corn, tuna, tomatoes, and light fluffy cubes of mozzarella cheese dressed with olive oil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar. The kids had fun building sandcastles, exploring the tide pools in the rocks, and jumping the waves. One day Roman found a sea urchin which he relocated to a place where no one would step on it, another day they discovered an octopus which they thought was totally cool because it changed colors and another day they found themselves encircled by turquoise colored fish that were really so pretty. I love that their outside play turned into a classroom. Well, it is our last day here in Germany and I still have a few things to do before we get on the plane in the morning. I didn't think I would be as emotional as I am, but I am really having a hard time keeping it together, and at the same time, I am so thrilled to go home. Hope you have a great day!
