10 Things

Tonight I am having a hard time finding the right words to say. I have sat here staring at my computer waiting for the words to come and yet somehow they evade me.  I have started writing on multiple different things that have been on my mind. Then it came to me, I will write on what I am grateful for because I certainly do have a lot to be grateful for and it is not lost on me. The little girl who lived most of her childhood in a trailer park who had to scrape up coins around the house for lunch each day is living this amazing life. So lets begin with the photos above, I am grateful for the beautiful sunny day earlier this week that allowed me the opportunity to go for a quick walk in the forest after picking up my daughter from school and produced these beautiful photos.  I can't wait for the next beautiful day so I can get photos of the other two. 2) I am grateful for this opportunity that has been extended to us to live in Europe for a year, and for the resources that allow me to travel.  3) I am grateful that my oldest son is thriving at university. That he was able to join a club (rocketry) that allows him to explore his interest.  4) I am grateful that my number 2 child was willing to try something new this year at school (cross country running) and while he didn't come first in any races he improved with each race and that he did not get injured while we were gone. 5) I am grateful that our two oldest boys will be joining us for Christmas here in Germany.  I am counting down the days until I can wrap my arms around them and give them a big hug. Boy do I miss these two boys!  6) I am grateful for my mother who has house sat for us these past 5 months and taken care of our son so that he could stay at his high school.  7) I am grateful that this month is World Adoption Awareness Month and for the two beautiful girls who have joined our family through adoption.  8) I am grateful for my husband and all that he does for our family. He is not only a great provider, but a good father and husband. Often putting our needs above his own. 9) I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that it teaches me that I am a child of God and while I often fall short my brother Jesus Christ has atoned for my sins.  I am grateful that his word teaches me that families are eternal and next to him are the most important thing.  I am grateful for the hope it gives me in a world that is ever so distressing these days. 10) I am grateful for new friends who have taken me under their wing helping me out when I need help and for old friends.  My list could probably go on forever because as I said above I am truly blessed.  What are you grateful for?  Wishing you a lovely weekend!!!!

You are truly living the dream life. Family is everything. So nice to see children grow and thrive. You provide a wonderful model for each of your children. Parenting is not always ease, and you are very impressive. Your Christmas will be joyous with everybody together in Germany. You must be thrilled. Susan

What a beautiful list. Yes, there is much for which to be grateful for and your list highlights things that are really important.

As for me? Grateful that my lip cancer was caught before it spread -- and that I'm over my radiation treatments now and just recovering; grateful for the support I have had in this journey; grateful for our sweet Baby Grand and Rick's strong presence and love; grateful for my sweet Lizzie and for the resources to feel secure. And so much more.

Wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving.

I lost count Kelleyn:) Not only has Jesus provided for an amazing life for us in heaven, but he also blesses us with many things and people here on earth. This all reminds me on Ps. 23 and thank you so much with sharing your blessing with all of us at All Seasons! Have a happy Thanksgiving week!

Looks like such a lovely day and all the leaves for your walk. The kids are so cute. There really are so many thankful things when one just sits and thinks about life; some of it's beauty and sometimes the not so beauty can end up a thankfulness when it is resolved. My prayer is that all could have all the thankful things equally, but it doesn't happen that way. It is God's plan for each of us; the roads we travel, but as you say, there are thankful things if we just pay attention.

Have a nice holiday and I'm with you, when all the kids can come and get together, it is awesome for parents. :)
