Celebrating the Life of Christ
This past Saturday, my church congregation, or as we call it, ward, had a church Easter Party. We started by having a Middle Easter Dinner of grilled chicken, pitas, hummus, olives, tomatoes, olives, onions, and so forth. The food was delicious. Then, as a family, we walked through the last week of Christ's life. We started with the temple, then moved on to the last supper, Gethsemane, his death, the empty tomb, and the final room, the resurrection. All of the families participated. The program organizers had crafted for the children, and the program ended with an Easter Egg Hunt for the children and the teens. It was a beautiful program where the spirit was surely felt. Each day this week I am trying to reflect on this special event in history and what it means to me and I am also trying to bring this to the attention of my children so that it is merely not just about getting an Easter Basket. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter! The girls and I leave for spring break at the end of this week. My husband has a paper due soon, and my son didn't want to hang out with a bunch of girls. My neighbor and her girls will join us, along with my mom, who is flying in from Seattle.

That was a special and thought full event for creating a kind of 'feeling' of the region where Christ lived.
In this setting, the girl with the blue bunny ears looked out of place. Such a stark contrast from the real meaning.
