Weekend in South Carolina

Columbia just a short drive from Atlanta was a perfect place to get away for the weekend.  The Riverbank Zoo and Botanical was the bomb for the kids.  We enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights at the speedway in Greenville on our way up which put us in the Christmas spirit.  The best was the afternoon spent at Lake Murray.  So pretty!  We enjoyed a yummy lunch and lake views!  The best in my books! We also visited with my son's friend Tagen who just got a new puppy.  Bear was so cute!  He is a Bernadoodle! Not much to report at the moment.  The kids are getting ready for a piano concert that they will be in Next Friday and then we are having our home German School Christmas concert next Saturday.  The girls have been practicing their songs and have even come up with a dance routine.  This should be fun to watch and then afterward we are going to enjoy a little lunch of German and Polish delights. Well, I better run!  I need to finish up the laundry and I need to get busy wrapping some gifts as we will be having Christmas next weekend since we are flying to Utah for the holidays.  It will be the first time skiing for the girls!  I will sit and drink my hot cocoa and watch!  We will for sure miss Winston, but we are happy to know that he is having a great time serving his mission in Germany serving the people in Chemnitz.  Happy Weekend!

What a great family trip. I'm not that far from Columbia to do a day trip, I think. After all the pandemic is behind us. You captured some great clips of those crochet/knitted designs on trees! I just wonder, what was the darker layer of the mash potatoes/gravy delight? I had thought brownies and ice cream until I saw the green beans...???

Thank you for visiting! I'm glad you did, I came to your blog and I saw beautiful things. I like this habit of dressing in brightly colored clothes the trees and poles. I've never seen that before.
The children are very cute, and the dog I think he is a wonderful playmate.

Have a fine weekend!

Beautiful photographs Kelleyn!

The colorful woolens wrapped around the tree trunks are interesting and awesome. Christmas décor is spreading cheer. Lovely view of the lake indeed. I can see the family is super happy.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
