5 Days

It's not that often that my husband and I can get away for a few days, so when we do we hit the ground running and get the heck out of dodge.  We only had 5 days to get away, but they were an amazing 5 days.  Our first stop was Miami where we stayed a lovely night in South Beach! We both have been to South Beach before, but never really had the chance to explore.  We enjoyed a lovely Cuban dinner and walked along the beach. I really wanted to get photos of the really cool art deco buildings, but the weather just didn't cooperate.  So after making a mad dash back to the hotel, we popped some popcorn and watched a video on Netflix.  The next morning we enjoyed a relaxing morning before boarding our Cruise.  I was a little bummed out because when we originally booked our Cruise we had chosen Cuba as one of the major destinations, but with the current sanctions, Americans are no longer allowed to visit.  The Cruise was wonderful in giving us a credit that we could use to book an excursion and replaced Cuba with Jamaica which I had also never been to.  I thought Atlanta was humid!  Jamaica to takes the cake on that one and I am not sure why I bothered doing my hair that day because withing minutes of being of the ship my hair fell completely flat and frizzy; however, Dunn Falls the beach and jerk chicken made up for it.  We spent two days at sea which we used to sleep in, read, and relax.  We don't get to do that very often. Our final destination was Grand Cayman.  My husband went on a wonderful scuba diving trip while I enjoyed the views of 7 mile Beach.  Like all good things they had to end and now I am ready for Christmas when we will all go on a cruise as a family.

The sand, sea, and coconut tress look fantastic! And the bracelets look beautiful! Love one.
Great trip and photos. I enjoyed Jamaica some years ago and climbed up the falls. I've never made it to the Grand Cayman but would love to go. Thanks for sharing and Happy Sunday!

Oh, am so happy at least there was another cruise available, and it was a warm weather an ocean one. Didn't know this about Cuba:( Some some of your images you could sell to a travel agency, Kelleyn, so inviting and warm!Glad you and your hubs took it eary - with kids around 24/7 you don't have that many opportunites to chill out! Wow, that little building on the beach is adorable. Your cruise sounds fabulous even if it was your second choice. I'm droolin' after seeing the food.
Thank you for sharing!

ah, that hammock on the beach looks devine and spells "relax". A mini holiday can seem much longer and so worth it. You certainly managed to cram in a lot. Have a great week and thank you so much for visiting my blog this week

How awesome! Your pictures from Jamaica look like something out of a movie or an ad! Unreal! And so beautiful! What a fantastic trip!

With Love,
Mandy
Nice to have a getaway with just the two of you. Looks like a relaxing time with great weather and wonderful food. And, that was a very large ship as well. We have never been on a cruise, but hope to try one on a smaller vessel one day.

I've never been on a cruise but yours looks like you had a lot of fun and relaxation. My son went this summer and came back five pounds heavier from all the food and rest.
