The State Fair

Hi!  Did you have a good weekend?  Friday we went to the fair.  The girls had a blast!  Roman choose to stay home because he had gone earlier in the week with his DECA Club and Winston was at the cross country running pasta dinner.  I have to say though I think the food quality has gone downhill, and that is pretty bad when you are already talking about junk food.  Saturday the girls were bears because they had gotten to bed too late.  My bad. Sunday was a new day. I went to church and it seemed like every talk was directed right at me and gave me hope and motivation to help me navigate the week.  One young man, who got baptized on Saturday, along with his friend got up and sung.  They had the whole room in tears.  It was so beautiful.  His voice is amazing.  Today I got up off my bootie and made some pumpkin cupcakes for a mom who just moved to the states from Scotland.  She has never had pumpkin.  Just that simple little act made me so happy!  I hope she loves them.  I had extra, so I shared some with my neighbor and she was beyond thrilled.  Well, I hate to keep this short tonight, but I gotta get the girls to bed and I am just plain tuckered out.  I think a really good night sleep is going to do me wonders.  Hope you have a lovely week.  What is on your agenda for the week.  I hope taking the time to be in awe of fall is somewhere on that list.  It has finally arrived here and it is just a matter of time before the leaves start to change colors.

I love the fair, but we missed ours this year due to travel … now I feel like I was there without the sugar and the fat! LOL! Good for you to reach out to your neighbors - I find we always feel better when we turn the focus off ourselves and onto others!

It looks like the girls had fun. We have fall fairs in the small towns here, including where I grew up, with much the same- midways, agriculture demonstrations, that sort of thing. Not having children, I haven't been to one of them since I was a teenager.

Adorable pictures! Looks as though the girls had a great time! I went this year, probably for the first time in 25 years. Took my mom to Senior Day at the Fair and while we didn't do the midway, we had fun and had some junk food as well!

Looks like the kids had fun in spite of the poor quality of junk food! I love the photos of the kids with the animals. I hope your week is going well. Sometimes a song, like you heard Sunday, can lift my spirits like nothing else.

I think it's safe to say they had a blast!
I've never had pumpkin cupcakes. I did see one post for pumpkin spice muffins so maybe they're similar. I'm planning to try making some. Yum fair popcorn. Great photos. Love the one of the Llama ? Think that's what it is. Cute face.

What is that you found to eat, looks like chocolate ribbon funnel cake holes, lol. Isn't part of the fair coming home with a tummy ache? Cute photos, looks like a blast.
