A Weekend in Tennessee

Tennessee has become a second home for our family.   If you have been reading my blog for a while then you know that our daughters who are adopted from China have friends who live in Tennessee and thus we find ourselves maintaining this connection and friendship.  Some may think, why bother, but I feel like our daughters have already lost so much that it is important for us to make the effort to keep these relationships.  Tennessee isn't bad on the eyes nor on the stomach.  This weekend while we were visiting our friends we ate dinner at Martin's BBQ and then we ate dessert at Andy's Custard.  The food was amazing!  As fish and chips is to Great Britain, bbq is to southerners.  I may have been born in California, but I truly think I am a southerner at heart.

The Ribs are lip-smacking good

Wholeheartedly agree with you Kelleyn, it's important for a child to know where they came from, and the relationships that come with that! Looks like the ids are having a great time:) Ice cream custard is what I would like to try! Thank you for sharing your adventures with the kids with All Seasons! Enjoy your Fall week! Jesh

It is so important to maintain those relationships for your kids, even if they choose not to maintain them later (which is what we found …) and the food doesn't hurt! Good barbecue is to die for!
Nice to see these big smiles.

I haven't traveled much, but I did drive from Toronto to Nashville for a weekend twice back around 1966-67. I have had a soft spot for the place ever since.

Delicious ribs for a happy family gathering!
No wonder you don't mind driving to TN when there's good friends and good food at the end of the trip. Looks like everyone had a delicious time!
Wonderful trip! Those ribs look yummy-- you reminded me to pick them up on my next trip to the market!
