Small Things "Corner View"

The older I get the more I come to the realization that it is the small things that make all the difference! A couple years ago when we were in Switzerland, my son Roman got sick and when we went to the pharmacy and I explained that he had diarrhea and was throwing up they suggested some probiotics.  They totally did the trick.  I had forgotten all about them and then our house was hit with one of the worst stomach bugs we have ever encountered.  It spread like wild fire through our house hitting each and every member of our family every couple of days.  I thought some how I had been spared, but by this Sunday I was feeling ill.  I don't know why I remembered these tiny little pills that are sold over the counter here in the states, but I did and I began taking them right away.  I think they made all the difference because by Monday night I was feeling much better and had recovered much faster than the other members in my family.

Often times I think we put so much importance on big things and fail to recognize the small little things in our lives that really are much more important.  My good friend Lucy always has a way of putting things in perspective by always saying some things are first world problems, and when you think about it many of the things most of us stress over truly are really pretty minor in comparison to the much bigger picture.  So take some time today and tell someone you love them, indulge in a piece of chocolate or cup of tea while listening to your favorite music, go for a walk, buy some bubbles and blow them even if you don't have any children in your  home, do something nice for someone else (the other day someone bought my drink in the fast food line), and the list goes on.  Have a great day!

Corner View is a weekly appointment shared by people around the globe, an appointment started in the spring of 2009 by Jane in Spain and currently hosted by Francesca over at Fuori Borgo. We welcome you to join us.

Very true! One of my favorite morning rituals is my walk with my dog Chip. Now that he's older (15 1/2) we don't go far or fast, but it's such a peaceful way to start the day. Just two old friends taking a stroll.

I'm glad you found relief. Thanks for the advice. It's been hot here and we've been enjoying our pool. It's one of my great pleasure to sit around water with friends and watch my children swim and have fun. Take care,

Shauna xo

And thanks for the reminder to take care of the little things.
