A Conference in Rome

Back in April, Frank had an opportunity to attend an academic conference in Rome.  He asked me to join, but I was unable to attend due to a lack of child care and just too many events with the children. This time of year is always chaotic, hence why it is nicknamed Mayhem. On one night this month, we have three major events. It would have been 4 if I hadn't told their piano teacher they wouldn't be able to attend. There was just no way we could attend all the events that evening. Anyway, I digress. Frank presented a paper at this conference. The conference was to celebrate the lifetime achievement of Professor Henry Chesbrough. He is famous in the management field for his idea "open innovation." He is an American organization theorist. He graduated from Yale and Stanford and was a professor at Harvard.  He now teaches at Berkley and holds a chair at the open innovation center in Brazil. He was a huge inspiration to Frank and his work.  The conference was held at Luiss University. The campus is stunning.  While Frank did not have much free time, he did have the opportunity to walk around the city one afternoon and take a tour of the Vatican. Approximately 120 professors from around the world were in attendance.
