The Houston Holocaust Museum
While we would have loved to explore Houston and its many parks, the weather was not cooperating. Since the girls are learning about the Holocaust in school, we thought attending the Holocaust Museum would be a perfect way to reiterate what they have learned. After WWII, many surviving Jews resettled in Houston. The museum tells the story of the Holocaust from their perspective. The museum also addresses other similar historical events, such as immigration from South America to North America, and other global genocide events, such as those in Africa. While the museum was informative, modernization could create a more child-friendly environment. There was just too much reading involved to get a complete experience.
