Houston Fine Art Museum

This past week, we traveled to Houston, Texas, and Galveston for spring break. While there, we visited the Houston Fine Art Museum. The art collections are extensive and housed in three separate buildings. The girls were not all that impressed, but as they grow older, they will come to appreciate art as they learn its history and significance. Thomas Kinkade has said, "Art transcends cultural boundaries."  I totally agree.  I have learned to appreciate other cultures as I have come to know and understand their people through art.  Yacov Agan has been quoted as saying, "There are two distinct languages.  There is the verbal, which separates people, and there is the visual, which everyone understands.  This is one reason why I love photography so much.  It is cliché, but an image does hold a thousand words.
