Hessenpark -Freilichtmuseum

On Tuesday, we took the children to Hessenpark which is an open-air museum that sits on 165 acres of land and displays over 100 buildings from the Hessen region and other historical artifacts. If you were to compare it to somewhere in the United States, then I would compare it to Williamsburg, Virginia; however, Hessenpark lacks actors dressed in historical dress.  It was a really fun way to spend the day as the girls enjoyed petting the animals and playing on the playground.

Beautiful old architecture.
Dearest Kelleyn,
What another educational trip you all made.
It will be very hard to compare this with ANY park in the USA as we here in the New World lack the 'HISTORISCHE GEBÄUDE'...
Both of us have visited the open air museum in Kommern, in the Eifel region: https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2020/12/the-open-air-museum-in-kommern-germany.html
With American colleagues we went to the Dutch open air museum near Arnhem: https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2019/09/netherlands-open-air-museum-with-mom.html
It was always very well received by our guests!
Enjoy the remainder of your time.
Hugs,
Mariette

Your photos make one wish to visit Hessen park and museum. I'm familiar with the architecture of the lovely buildings displayed in your post, as I visited Germany once.
